    Cleaning is simple:

    • Use a mild detergent mixed with water
    • Gently scrub with a soft brush or sponge

  • How tight should a shade sail be?

    A shade sail should be tensioned firmly so the fabric is taut with minimal sagging. Proper tension helps prevent flapping, reduces wear, and improves wind resistance. A Coolaroo Shade Sail Tensioner Accessory is available to assist with tensioning your shade sail. 
  • Do Coolaroo shade sails fade over time?

    Coolaroo shade sails are made from UV stabilised HDPE, which is designed to resist fading and damage from the sun. Over many years outdoors, all HDPE fabrics will experience some natural ageing, which can include slight colour change and gradual reduction in material flexibility. 
  • How do I connect a shade sail to a fascia?

    When attaching a shade sail to your fascia it is important to secure your fascia using a Fascia Support - available through your hardware retailer. This will reduce the amount of force directly on your fascia board and protect the fascia from pulling from its position. See our installation instructions for more detail. 
  • Does it matter which side up my shade sail is installed?

    Shade sails should be installed with the rougher side (usually the hemmed side) facing toward the ground. This will help prevent falling dust and debris getting caught within the coarser knit of the fabric.
