  • What size market umbrella do I need for my outdoor area?

    Choosing the right size depends on the space you want to shade. As a guide, your umbrella should extend about 60 to 70 centimetres beyond your table or seating area on all sides to provide full coverage.

  • Can I leave my umbrella outside all year round?

    Coolaroo umbrellas are designed for regular outdoor use, but they should be closed and stored during high winds, heavy rain, or off-season months to help extend their life. Allow the canopy to dry completely before storing in an umbrella cover.

  • How much UV protection does the canopy provide?

    All Coolaroo umbrellas feature canopies rated at highly-effective UVE, helping to block up to 98% of harmful UV rays. They are endorsed by Cancer Council Australia.

  • What is the difference between the available Coolaroo canopy fabrics?

    • Polyester is quick-drying and colourfast, making it a great everyday option.
    • Olefin adds fade and stain resistance with improved durability.

  • How do I clean and care for my umbrella?

    Wash the canopy and frame with mild soap and water using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Avoid using bleach, abrasive cleaners, or machine washing. Always close the umbrella during strong winds or storms.

  • Can I use my market umbrella through a table?

    Yes. All Coolaroo market umbrellas are compatible with outdoor dining tables that include a centre hole for umbrella poles. Check that the table hole diameter slightly exceeds your umbrella pole before inserting. Using the umbrella with both a table and a weighted base provides maximum stability.

    • Small to medium umbrellas: Minimum 25-30kg
    • Large umbrellas or cantilever styles: 40kg or more
